Job description

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s Therapeutic Fostering team, based in West London.

The Role:

Join a high-performing, "Good" rated IFA as a Supervising Social Worker. This is an opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about quality over quantity; you will manage a protected caseload, allowing you to provide meaningful, reflective support to your foster carers.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Supervision: Conduct monthly reflective supervision visits with foster carers to monitor the quality of care and placement stability.
  • Assessments: Undertake Form F assessments for prospective foster carers and present reports to the Fostering Panel.
  • Support & Training: Facilitate "Skills to Foster" training and lead local support groups for carers.
  • Safeguarding: Monitoring child protection issues and ensuring all regulatory "unannounced visits" are completed annually.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with Local Authority Social Workers to ensure the child’s Care Plan is being met.

What You Will Do: * Provide high-quality supervision and support to a dedicated group of foster carers.

  • Participate in the recruitment and initial assessment (Form F) of new applicants.
  • Ensure all placements are stable, safe, and meeting the developmental needs of the child.
  • Deliver training and support groups to help carers manage complex behaviors or specialized placements.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with National Minimum Standards.

Benefits:

This agency is known for its supportive culture and focus on specialized care. You’ll benefit from regular supervision, a competitive car allowance, and the chance to work in a team where your professional voice is truly heard.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Direct experience within a fostering team (IFA or Local Authority).
  • Sound knowledge of the Fostering Services Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
  • A therapeutic or child-centered approach to social work practice.
  • Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle.

Reasonable Adjustments:

If you consider yourself to have a disability or require any reasonable adjustment during the recruitment process or within the workplace, please highlight this at the earliest opportunity by contacting our team. With this information, we will provide appropriate support to you throughout the process and into your work placement.
We are unable to support or accept applications from candidates who are residents within the Red or Amber list of the Code of practice for the international recruitment of health and social care personnel in England, based on the World Health Organisation (WHO) Workforce Support and Safeguard List.
