Apply to this jobResponsible for leading and managing the substation design team from design to implementation and will coordinate planning, budgeting, scheduling, specification, design and construction.
Functions:
Coordinate planning, budgeting, scheduling, technical specifications, design, review, construction and commissioning in accordance with engineering policies and procedures
Develop/amend engineering governance policies and processes and ensure compliance
Provide technical advice to key stakeholders across departments and the business units as required
Manage resources, budget, assets, and projects to achieve agreed outcomes
Provide operational direction and leadership to establish and maintain a culture of teamwork, accountability and results
Drive business and financial planning for effective management of operations in line with strategic goals
Stakeholder relationship management
Manage a central repository of issued design packages and any revisions
Ensure the provision of timely and accurate engineering input to support bids, works planning and field activities
Oversee project managers to ensure compliance and adherence to technical standards
Requirements:
Minimum of a 1st degree with a relevant Masters degree or an MBA .
Minimum of 10 years experience in the power utilities sector including experience with a consultancy or design and build company .
Experience in leading a design team including resource allocation, training, and development and mentoring.
Strong client and subcontractor interface experience .
Technical experience in primary or secondary design for substations.
