Student Worker/ Work Study- Quad Cities- Hawk's Cupboard food pantry

The Federal Work Study Program provides jobs for students at Black Hawk College demonstrating financial need. Eligible students typically work between 6 - 15 hours per week.<br><br>In order to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program, you must:<br>* Receive Financial Aid<br>* Be approved for Work Study by Financial Aid and Human Resources<br>* Current BHC student enrolled in 6 or more credit hours per semester<br>* Cumulative 2.0 GPA (per the Academic Progress Policy&nbsp;<em><span><span><a href="http://www.bhc.edu/academic-progress" style="color: inherit; text-decoration: underline" target="blank">www.bhc.edu/academic-progress</a>)</span></span></em><br><br>BHC students who don't meet the above eligibility requirements, may be eligible for non-Work Study positions. These positions are subject to budget limitations/availability of funds and are not always available.&nbsp;<span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">The Hawk's Cupboard is a food pantry to feed BHC students in need.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">The Hawk's Cupboard stocks nonperishable food and toiletries. BHC is in partnership with River Bend Foodbank for food donations. Students can get food at any time or they can stop by outside Building 3 on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month (during designated times) and we will put bags of food in their car.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Duties and Responsibilities Include:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Helping unload truck from River Bend Food Bank delivery</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Packing bags with groceries for drive up events</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Stocking food pantry</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Keeping inventory of needed/wanted items</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Working with the pantry captain to order from River Bend</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Checking in students/employees utilizing the food pantry</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Ensuring new visitors complete a registration sheet</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Organizing the Hawk's Cupboard as needed following pantry dates</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Holding open pantry hours to allow for better access of non-perishable goods</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Assisting with any drives that are planned</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Ensuring that marketing is placed in appropriate places on campus and keeping related marketing up to date.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">&nbsp;* Other assigned duties</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit;
