The opportunity

The School of Arts, Sciences, and Education is seeking a student employee to fill General Biology and Chemistry Lab Assistant role for the fall semester. The lab assistant will work with faculty members to help set up and take down of the biology  and chemistry labs weekly.  This is a part-time, hourly position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Taking inventory of lab equipment and consumables. Reporting to instructors when inventory is low.
  • Setting up equipment for weekly laboratory exercises.
  • Prepping chemical reagents and biological specimens as needed for weekly laboratory exercise.
  • Cleaning and take-down of equipment after laboratory exercises.
  • Disposing of waste generated during labs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Microbiology lab experience, preferred
  • Federal Work-Study as part of the financial aid package
  • Availability on Monday is a must, but will have hours on other days based on agreed upon schedule
  • Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate degree at SNHU Ability to work independently

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
