The Opportunity:

 As a CACI Strategic Planner, you will help shape the future of national defense by contributing to the development and execution of strategic planning efforts. This entry-level role offers an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with senior leaders, gain exposure to key Department of Defense stakeholders, and grow in the field of strategic planning and national security.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, review, and coordination of campaign plans, posture plans, and policies aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support planning efforts, including threat assessments and capability gap identification.
  • Track progress of strategic initiatives and identify emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Prepare written reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with internal directorates, Joint Staff, and OSD to ensure alignment and integration of plans and policies.
  • Support the preparation of talking points, responses to RFIs, and participation in policy meetings or working groups.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant policy developments, current events, and defense strategy trends impacting USSOUTHCOM.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Must have DOD SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, International Relations, National Security Studies, History, or related field.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desired: 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with U.S. military operations and the Department of Defense.
  • Experience with campaign planning, classified environments, or data analysis/visualization.
  • Experience working in a Combatant Command J5 Planning Directorate.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200-$158,100
