Position Purpose
The Strategic Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between the company and its key customers, responsible for building strong, consultative relationships that drive customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and long-term account growth. This role partners closely with customers and internal teams to evaluate performance, resolve challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and align service delivery with customer expectations and business objectives. The Strategic Account Manager leverages data-driven insights, structured business reviews, and strategic planning to strengthen partnerships, improve customer retention, and support sustainable growth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key customer stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers to evaluate service performance, operational metrics, and overall partnership effectiveness.
  • Present data-driven insights related to order accuracy, fill rates, delivery performance, product quality, and service levels to support continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and long-term account value.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Transportation, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Monitor customer performance metrics, track trends, and develop action plans to address gaps and strengthen account performance.
  • Support account growth initiatives by identifying opportunities to expand services, improve customer profitability, and increase overall account value.
  • Act as a customer advocate internally by communicating feedback, identifying trends, and influencing service and operational improvements.
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer concerns by coordinating resources and maintaining proactive communication.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and account summaries for both internal leadership and customer stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, performance metrics, and action plans within CRM and reporting systems.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and operational best practices to strengthen strategic partnerships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality,
or related field
• 5 - 7 Years 5+ years of experience in account management, customer success, foodservice distribution, hospitality, or related industry.
• 6 Months - 1 Year Supervisory or management experience
• Experience as a Strategic Account Manager or Key Account Manager.
• Solid sales experience in a B2B environment.
• Hands-on experience with CRM software and account management systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships.
• Strong negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude.
• Understanding of sales performance metrics.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certified Strategic Account Manager-
SAMA
• Certified Sales Leadership Professional
(CSLP)
