Job Description

The Program Manager will support company goals by coordinating and managing small remodel and refresh projects for existing Nordstrom and Rack stores, from intake of project scope to creating scope documents and managing external vendors and installation. This role is also responsible for organizing and updating the Design Sample Library, liaising with external vendors and assisting with presentation and design reviews. 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Nordstrom internal corporate departments to intake remodel and refresh projects and to ensure that the scope and direction of each project are validated and captured (develop scope document, quantify materials and obtain external supplier quotes)
  • Coordinate project timeline with internal Design Team, Store team, external consultants, and vendors. Manage project progress, troubleshoot issues, and approve invoices from external general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Provide clear updates on project timelines and budgets to cross-functional teams, alert team members on changes to delivery schedules and installations, and communicate risks, document status changes, and follow up with internal stakeholders
  • Maintain the Design Sample library of finish samples.  Organize and update the library with new materials and meet with external suppliers to research and obtain new specifications and material samples. Update the specifications and pricing in the existing catalogs and collections
  • Maintain and establish relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and showrooms to keep samples and catalogs current
  • Influence design solutions to meet architectural, interior design, customer experience, and fixture/furniture design objectives while collaborating with the Design team to research and assist with new and replacement finish materials for projects
  • Implement speed-to-market solutions and value engineering ideas to drive efficiencies and cost savings without compromising design aesthetics
  • Continuously assess, refine, and evolve operational practices and processes and cross-train employees in departmental practices and processes

Skills and Competencies:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Project or Program Management within a retail or design organization, with a background in architectural or interior design and planning. A degree in architecture, interior design, visual merchandising, or a related field is an asset
  • Practical understanding of building processes and operational systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, with strong follow-up methodology
  • Proficiency in visual, written, and verbal communication of design issues, project planning, and management. Knowledge of architectural details and specifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to balance business needs and project constraints while maintaining high design quality standards

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000-$132,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
