Apply to this jobPRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for monitoring disassembled poultry, recording and reporting out of spec product. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Under minimal supervision, check product on all lines looking for product which does not meet required specifications (i.e. contains excessive skin, bones, cartilage, gristle, etc.), documenting results on required SPC forms
- Communicate to supervisor immediately when product does not meet quality standards and implement corrective action to bring process back within acceptable limits
- Perform retests on deviations until process is back within acceptable limits
- Enter information in SPC computer program accurately and in a timely manner
- Comply with and enforce standards, checks and procedures
- Adhere to safe work practices, policies and procedures, maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality; report any condition or practice that may adversely affect food safety, food quality and/or personnel safety
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate percentages
- General computer skills with the ability to enter collected data into SPC software
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
- Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May work in wet and cold (45ºF, 4ºC) or hot and dusty (95ºF, 35ºC) environment
- Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipment
- Ability to lift 5 lbs
- Work around raw, live animal odors
