The Search Content Platforms' mission is to understand and organize the world's content to power the best Search+ experiences, enabling disparate sources and modalities of content accessible and connected.

In the first decade, Google’s mission was to organize web content and connect users to information via 10 blue links. In the next decade, we built an answer engine and a rich set of domain-specific, immersive (vertical) Search experiences. Now, we offer an AI-forward, multimodal information experience, leveraging broader content availability and the advances in AI capabilities to harvest and organize our content.

The mission is to build a content platform that uses AI to minimize or eliminate the effort for both content providers to share their content with Google, and vertical teams to expose the content to users. In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. Responsibilities

• Drive and own deep technical problems with cross Search and Google impact.
• Help establishing our Content as a Service offer.
• Collaborate with other local Search/Knowledge and Information leaders to make Sao Paulo a center of engineering excellence for the broader organization.
• Help teams establish technical understanding and trust needed to succeed and execute on ambitious goals in Search.
• Mentor and develop team members on technical and non-technical skills to create a high functioning, high trust, exceptional team.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with extract, transform, and load (ETL), data architecture, and system integration.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
