With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Support one of Google's fastest growing internal AI assistants focused on info-seeking, learning, and first-line support for development. Over half of all Googlers regularly use this tool to improve their day-to-day workflows, answer technical questions, automatically run searches for clarification on internal policies, and more. Our outlook is to be the omnipresent and personal AI collaborator empowering every Googler to do their best work.

In this role, you will lead large workstreams to ensure top quality of Duckie outputs. You will also work closely with several partner teams to get the best out of our AI models.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead ambitious workstreams to improve agent quality.
  • Explore advanced techniques for getting the best out of available Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic harnesses.
  • Provide insights and strategies to improve agent quality while staying informed on the latest developments in AI industry/research.
  • Work with the Gemini-for-Google and Deepmind teams to run feedback training/evaluate data and iterate on model quality.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional and partner teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
  • 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
