Job Summary:

We’re looking for a Staff Product Development Engineer to guide the support and maintenance of cloud infrastructure powering Disney’s Ad Technology application services. This includes AWS-based platforms such as EKS, Istio, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and Terraform modules. You’ll lead day-to-day technical execution for incident response, troubleshooting, and platform reliability, while mentoring engineers and partnering with platform teams to drive operational improvements. This role is ideal for someone with deep infrastructure expertise, strong debugging skills, and a passion for keeping core developer platforms stable, secure, and efficient.
 

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership & Design: Drive infrastructure and tooling design decisions in partnership with engineering leadership and platform architects.

• Hands-on Engineering & Automation: Contribute to codebases for Terraform modules, observability improvements, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tools.

• Incident Response & Escalation: Serve as first technical point of escalation for support incidents, guiding root cause analysis and recovery.

• Mentorship & Code Review: Mentor team members through design guidance, pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

• Platform Migration & Reliability Initiatives: Lead infrastructure upgrade/migration efforts and collaborate on initiatives to improve availability and performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.

• Proven experience designing, operating, and supporting AWS infrastructure (EKS, IAM, VPC, ALB/NLB).

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio service mesh in production environments.

• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker), and scripting (Python, Go, or similar).

• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and leading through technical influence.

• Experience responding to high-severity incidents and driving root cause resolution across globally distributed teams.

• Experience leading teams in on-call rotations or incident resolution processes across globally distributed teams.

• Expert communicator

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading infrastructure upgrades, migrations, or platform standardization efforts.

• Familiarity with Datadog, Prometheus, or other observability tools.

• Exposure to cloud-native security practices (TLS, IAM, workload identity).

• Experience with hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Background in ad tech, media, or regulated environments (SOX, CCPA).

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
