SUMMARY

Acme’s Finance team is seeking a Staff II Accountant who will be an exceptional addition to our Accounting team. As a Staff II Accountant at Acme, you will support the accounting function of our content licensing business. The right person for this role is proactive, self-directed, and possesses an atypically high quality bar for themselves and their work product. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own the preparation of journal entries and supporting work paper reconciliations for key balance sheet and expense accounts related to content during the month-end close process
  • Understand and maintain all content licensing agreements, including tracking all payments and updating the contractual terms in the system
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly statements and support as part of the content partner remittance process for timely issuance of payments
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding accounting or content payment related activities, utilizing judgment as to when items need to be escalated
  • Provide support for annual internal and external audits as necessary, including preparing audit schedules and cross-checking and footing financial statements and footnotes
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of process documentation
  • Provide support for ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

WHAT TO BRING

  • 1-2 years of accounting experience
  • Sound US GAAP technical knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft business suite, specifically Excel (including VLOOKUP formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a high sense of urgency
  • Strong work ethic with the ability and flexibility to work extended hours during critical periods such as month and year-end and remittance deadlines
  • Must be team oriented with a positive attitude and a fit with our Acme culture
