Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing financial records for the Construction department, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Process and reconcile transactions related to vendor payables and other construction project spend
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a staff accountant or similar role
  • Familiarity with accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Financial modeling and forecasting
  • CPA certification or progress toward obtaining is a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements
