Sr. Tax Analyst

Fortune 500 Company

•   Process   tax exemption requests from Customer Care groups and exempt customers from   taxes and surcharges in the various billing platforms.
•   Ensure   that exemption certificates and/or waivers are valid, accurate and timely   processed. 
•   Ability   to review and approve tax credits with properly supported   documentation. 
•   Provide   the Transaction Tax Audit Group with exemption certificates as requested for   audits. 
•   Assist   with billing system conversions, and other projects relating to customers’   tax and surcharge exemptions.
•   Develop and design exemption workflow/process   improvements for staff efficiencies.
•   Initiates the evaluation and analysis of the workflow   to identify changes, where applicable, to the workflow and addresses/designs   process changes in order to expedite customer exemptions.
•   Research, analyze, and resolve customer exemption   disputes

  
• Assist        with the embedded base exemption cleanup for the various billing        systems.
  
• Assist        with the special projects as needed

•   Lead and/or manage exemption process improvement   projects.  Leverage exemption expertise to build automated tools.
  •   Evaluate current workflow- to-design new automation   tools.
  •   Develop work plan to build and implement automation   tools.

•   Define, direct, and communicate exemption policy and   procedures to customer support and marketing groups and ensure compliance   with the policy

• Experience:  Relevant business\tax\ or finance experience; knowledge of Verizon billing  systems, Access, and Excel
• Other:  Strong interpersonal skills; excellent communications skills; strong analytical skills.

Candidate must be highly a motivated, self-starter with strong PC skills.
