We are a rapidly growing E&P company that presents a challenging and rewarding work environment for its personnel.  We are looking for motivated self-starters with a background of driving value across the organization and a demonstrated ability to deliver results.  The Sr. Staff DBA will be accountable for delivering a reliable and scalable environment to support both current and forecasted growth and is expected to participate in the planning, implementation, and support of other IT systems, including business and E&P applications.  The position should be considered a hands-on technical role that will function as a liaison between IT and all business units within the organization.  A strong candidate will possess solid technical skills and also be able to demonstrate the ability to drive user requirements, quickly discern between competing priorities, and leverage their strong interpersonal skill set to get results.  In addition, the Sr. Staff DBA position will be expected to partner with other areas within IT to help define and drive the overarching database strategy across the organization as well as solve complex business problems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•                   Monitor the daily operations of databases and ensure the databases are running efficiently.

•                   Manage the SQL and Oracle application schemas for business applications.

•                   Implement and maintain security management or Database environment. Ensuring data is protected and ensure appropriate level of access based on the Roles.

•                   Participate in company-wide projects for system roll-outs of software, hardware installation /upgrade for applications/operating systems, and/or perform system validation testing.

•                   Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers.

•                   Manage and implement best practices around DEV/UAT/PROD environments.

•                   Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

•                   Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

•                   Establish database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Standardize database environment to optimize investment.

•                   Create and maintain table structures, create/maintain database triggers. Indexes, sequences and procedures as needed. Responsible for performance tuning of SQL and Oracle databases.

•                   Write or update scripts, jobs supporting database backup and recovery process to ensure, maintenance, integrity and higher availability. Ensure licensing agreement compliance.

•                   Develop, improve and maintain system processes and tasks for various IT Infrastructure including windows servers, databases, and application delivery systems.

•                   Coordinate capacity planning and performance of other IT infrastructure components.

•                   Support windows server and other critical aspect of IT infrastructure.

 

 

Knowledge & Experience:

•                   8 years as SQL Server DBA (SQL SERVER 2012/2008/2008R2/2005/2000).

•                   4 years Backup/Recovery, High-Availability, Performance Tuning.

•                   2 years SSIS/SSAS/SSRS.

•                   3 years as Oracle DBA with 11G experience.

•                   Oracle Forms, Reports, and iAS experience would be a plus.

•                   5 years Oil and Gas experience.

•                   Experience with Oracle Weblogic, Identity management, Business Objects, OBIEE, ECM, and/or Data Warehousing is preferred.

•                   Advance knowledge of configuration, patching, installation and upgrades of relational databases.

•                   Proven experience to establish recovery models, database backup and restore procedures, recovery models.

•                   Experience operating in a data warehouse, virtualized environment a plus.

•                   Experience working with Landmark applications (Open Wells, TOW, DSS) and Quorum is a plus.

•                   Experience working with SharePoint infrastructure would be a plus.

•                   Experience in environments with tight formal Change Management processes and SOX compliance.

•                   Strong verbal and written communication skills to work within multidiscipline team environment.

 

 

Education & Certification:

•                   University degree in the field of computer science, IT or related field is required.

•                   Project Management and ITIL certifications are preferred.

•                   Oracle Certified Professional and MCSE: Data Platform Solutions Expert a plus.
