Job Summary:

Supermicro is looking for an entry-level mechanical engineer to join our product management team, supporting the mechanical design of in-house server chassis.  In this role, you will collaborate closely with the product engineering and management team to oversee the chassis development cycle, reviewing the mechanical design and mechanical placements to ensure the design is robust and efficient.

This position will be in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Designing CDM of L11 for DCBBS
  2. Designing piping and connection of L11 for DCBBS
  3. Assisting rack design of MGX/ OCP / EIA for DCBBC
  4. Discussing DFM of mechanical parts of servers and racks
  5. Assisting ISBA3B, transportation and GR63 Zone4 test for racks
  6. Collaborate with cross function teams and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and meet expected standards.
  7. Operate and maintain relevant testing equipment for material property testing.
  8. Design and implement experiments, analyze experimental data, and write reports, providing improvement recommendations.
  9. Support the development of new products and the improvement of existing products, providing technical support and professional advice.
  10. Define the standard processes based on the risk analysis and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors in mechanical engineering, Material Science or a related technical field, Master's degree preferred.
  2. At least 10 years of relevant work experience in mechanism engineering, with a background in mechanical design and analysis preferred.
  3. Strong experimental design and data analysis skills, with the ability to independently write technical reports.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for providing proper solutions to meet product criteria or customers’ requirements.
  5. Able to have good communication and team collaboration skills.
