Job Summary:

As a global leader in networking solution innovation, Super Micro Computer's mission is to develop and provide the market with end-to end computing solution and high performance networking products. We have an immediate need for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our talented and bright design team. The candidate will play a key role in the development process of in-house server motherboards, by working collaboratively with cross-functional engineering team as well as outside partners to ensure the robust design of the boards. The candidate must be self-motivated and possess a strong will to do great things, with a result-driven mindset to develop the most competitive and endurance board products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.    Responsible for creating specifications, design schemes, and project functional blocks, correctly selecting parts and vendors, testing equipment for new projects, and modifying/enhancing existing designs.
2.    Responsible for schematics captures, layout check, BOM creation, and debugging and testing of server board/add-on card/backplane products.
3.    Collaborate with validation engineers and labs to discover and solve any quality-related issues of designs in the early stages.
4.    Create fluent technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, test procedures, etc.
5.    Set up testing environment, resolve complicated issues, and work on critical engineering problems.
6.    Ensure product conforms to engineering specifications and regulatory and customer performance expectations.
7.    Transfer products to manufacturing with clear documentation and help C.M. and technical support to solve problems.

Qualifications:

1.    BSEE/MSEE with 5+ years of hardware design hands-on experience in X86 Server/Workstation/Storage motherboard design.
2.    Knowledge of high-speed circuit design and voltage regular circuit design. 
3.    In-depth knowledge of PCB layout, OrCAD/Allegro tools, circuit design, and PCB structure.
4.    Proficiency in design tools OrCAD/Allegro or Concept HDL.
5.    Familiar with digital scope and high-speed bus measurement.  
6.    Ability to work independently and efficiently to achieve design goals to the best quality and fast time-to-market. 
7.    Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving capability, and ability to adapt and learn new concepts and technologies.
8.    Self-motivated and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment.
