Job Summary:

Based in our San Jose headquarters, the Sr. Field Marketing Director at Supermicro leads the strategy, development, and execution of comprehensive regional and field marketing initiatives across the US and Americas. This strategic leader is responsible for aligning marketing programs directly with sales objectives to drive brand visibility, accelerate pipeline velocity, and maximize revenue impact.

The candidate will be tasked to transform marketing activations into core drivers of demand generation and customer acquisition. The Sr. Field Marketing Director will collaborate intimately with Executive teams, Sales, Product Management, and Global Marketing to build a scalable field marketing engine that showcases Supermicro’s technology leadership in the enterprise and datacenter markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Field Alignment: Architect and execute a comprehensive US field marketing strategy aligned with corporate revenue targets, enterprise sales objectives, and key account strategies.
  • Demand Generation Integration: Transform corporate events (e.g., GTC, OCP, Supercomputing), customer summits, and partner forums into high-yielding demand generation channels by integrating robust pre- and post-event campaign architecture.
  • Pipeline Acceleration: Partner closely with Sales leadership to develop localized enterprise programs, executive briefings, and targeted account-based marketing (ABM) initiatives that progress pipelines and close high-value deals.
  • Portfolio & Campaign Management: Oversee the tiered prioritization framework for regional marketing activities, managing annual budgets, resource allocation, and cross-functional project roadmaps.
  • Solution Storytelling: Collaborate with Product Management and Global Marketing to ensure high-impact product messaging, technical solution storytelling, and consistent brand representation across all field touchpoints.
  • Agency & Vendor Ecosystems: Direct the evaluation, selection, and management of strategic agencies, production partners, and vendors to ensure flawless, high-quality program delivery.
  • Data-Driven ROI & Insights: Establish a rigorous measurement framework utilizing advanced KPIs, revenue attribution models, and dashboards to track field marketing performance (MQLs, SQLs, pipeline velocity, and ROI).
  • Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration: Maintain a tight feedback loop between HQ and regional teams to share best practices, ensure global consistency, and adapt corporate campaigns for local market relevance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 17+ years of progressive leadership in field marketing, demand generation, or corporate marketing leadership—specifically within B2B technology, enterprise IT hardware, or datacenter-related industries.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in bridging the gap between marketing activities and revenue generation, with deep experience supporting enterprise sales teams and executing high-impact ABM strategies.
  • Event Excellence: Substantial experience leading large-scale, complex multi-track industry tradeshows and high-touch executive programs from a strategic perspective.
  • Financial & Vendor Acumen: Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar field marketing budgets, negotiate enterprise-level vendor contracts, and drive cost-efficiencies.
  • Leadership & Influence: Strong executive presence with a track record of building, coaching, and scaling high-performing marketing teams. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives, with the opportunity to build and lead a field marketing team as the function grows.
  • Communication: Masterful communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical Mindset: Highly analytical approach to marketing, with deep familiarity with modern marketing automation, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and ROI dashboards.
