Job Description Summary

The Sr Data Visualization Engineer will provide dedicated Digital Technology support for production data visibility, shop-floor connectivity, and site digital tools at the Wilmington location. This role is responsible for supporting and sustaining local systems that enable machine connectivity, operational data collection, production reporting, and issue resolution within a manufacturing environment.

The position will partner closely with site operations, manufacturing, engineering, and DT teams to troubleshoot technical issues, support local digital tools, improve access to production data, and maintain reliable connectivity between shop-floor systems and reporting solutions. This role will also be responsible for maintaining Wilmington’s Historian database and ensuring all applicable shop-floor manufacturing machines connected through MTConnect are accurately integrated, current, and represented in the database.

This role is well suited for a candidate with strong IT support experience, technical troubleshooting capability, hardware and software support knowledge, and experience working directly with end users in a fast-paced operational environment.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site DT support for production data visibility and shop-floor digital systems at the Wilmington site.

  • Support machine connectivity and related shop-floor systems that enable operational data collection, reporting, and production visibility.

  • Assist with the sustainment and troubleshooting of MTConnect, OpsVision, OEE reporting, and related local production-data tools.

  • Maintain Wilmington’s Historian database, ensuring all applicable shop-floor manufacturing machines connected through MTConnect are accurately integrated, validated, and kept current.

  • Support OEE reporting and local data-visibility tools used by operations and manufacturing teams.

  • Provide local UDC support, including issue tracking, troubleshooting, escalation, and coordination with broader DT teams.

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user-access issues impacting production-data visibility and shop-floor digital performance.

  • Support the setup, configuration, testing, and deployment of local devices, systems, and technical solutions used in the manufacturing environment.

  • Partner with operations, engineering, and site leadership to resolve day-to-day technical issues affecting production reporting, machine connectivity, and digital tool performance.

  • Monitor, identify, and help resolve system, connectivity, and device issues impacting shop-floor operations.

  • Support end users with issue resolution related to local digital tools, reporting access, and production visibility systems.

  • Maintain documentation, support procedures, inventories, and technical records related to site digital systems and supported applications.

  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational visibility, system reliability, and support responsiveness.

  • Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and DT support teams to resolve escalated issues and sustain site performance.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 2 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 7 years of professional experience

  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Characteristics

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), technical support, manufacturing systems support, digital technology, network support, endpoint support, or related technical roles.

  • Experience supporting site IT operations, deskside support, end-user computing, or manufacturing/shop-floor systems.

  • Familiarity with hardware deployment, network connectivity, operating systems, device support, and issue resolution.

  • Experience with help desk ticketing systems, hardware inventory management, and technical documentation.

  • Ability to troubleshoot at both the device and connectivity level, including coordination across multiple support teams.

  • Experience supporting digital tools used in operations, manufacturing, or production environments.

  • Familiarity with MTConnect, OpsVision, OEE reporting, Historian databases, or similar shop-floor and production-data systems.

  • Experience maintaining machine connectivity and ensuring accurate production-data integration between shop-floor assets and reporting platforms.

  • Strong customer support mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and leadership.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft environments, endpoint devices, remote support tools, and user-access management.

  • Ability to learn site-specific manufacturing applications and support their day-to-day use.
