Care Dimensions is seeking a full-time Spiritual Counselor to join our interdisciplinary team at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, Massachusetts. This is a unique opportunity to work in one location, providing spiritual support and guidance to patients and families during some of life's most important moments.

As a member of the hospice care team, the Spiritual Counselor works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and is responsible for assessing, coordinating, and providing spiritual care that honors each patient's and family's beliefs, values, and wishes. This role plays an essential part in supporting emotional, spiritual, and existential needs as outlined in the hospice plan of care.

What You'll Do

  • Provide compassionate spiritual support to hospice patients and their families.
  • Assess spiritual needs and develop appropriate interventions consistent with the plan of care.
  • Coordinate spiritual care services with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Support patients and families of diverse faiths, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Participate in care planning and team meetings.
  • Assist patients and families in finding meaning, comfort, and peace during end-of-life care.

What You'll Bring

  • Graduate degree preferred (Master of Divinity, Theology, or equivalent theological education).
  • Minimum of two years of pastoral experience in a hospital, hospice, or community ministry setting preferred.
  • Certificate of Ordination preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide ecumenical and inclusive spiritual care.
  • Experience counseling patients and families facing terminal illness.
  • Understanding of hospice philosophy and principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation.

The Pay Range listed is the anticipated hiring range of this position.  Precise pay rates are determined through consideration of one or more of the following:  education, training, relevant experience and work location.  There are some cases in which the pay rate could exceed the range listed on this job post.  Care Dimensions also offers a comprehensive benefits package – including employer-sponsored health insurance, paid time-off, tuition reimbursement, student loan paydown, supplemental insurance options and more – which adds to the company’s generous total rewards package.    

Pay Range
$31$35 USD
