Job description

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a highly qualified Surgical Oncologist to join its multidisciplinary cancer care team. This opportunity is ideal for experienced specialists committed to delivering advanced surgical treatment for patients with solid organ and soft tissue malignancies.

We are looking for candidates holding UK CCT, American Board Certification, Australian Fellowship, Western European Board Certification, or South African Fellowship, with substantial post-qualification experience in surgical oncology.

  • Diagnose and surgically manage patients with benign and malignant tumors.
  • Perform complex oncologic surgeries following evidence-based clinical guidelines.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with medical and radiation oncologists.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings.
  • Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative patient management.
  • Utilize minimally invasive and advanced surgical techniques whenever appropriate.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment options, surgical procedures, and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Supervise junior physicians and contribute to departmental teaching activities.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Master's Degree/Residency in General Surgery.
  • Fellowship or Board Certification in Surgical Oncology.
  • UK CCT, American Board, Australian Fellowship, Western European Board, or South African Fellowship preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-board experience as a Surgical Oncologist in a recognized tertiary care hospital.
  • Experience managing gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, breast, endocrine, colorectal, thoracic, melanoma, sarcoma, or other oncologic surgeries.
  • Excellent surgical, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification is preferred.
