Job description

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a highly qualified Ophthalmologist to join its specialist medical team. This opportunity is ideal for experienced ophthalmologists dedicated to delivering exceptional eye care using advanced diagnostic and surgical technologies.

We are looking for candidates holding UK CCT, American Board Certification, Australian Fellowship, Western European Board Certification, or South African Fellowship, with strong post-qualification experience in ophthalmology.

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of eye diseases and vision disorders.
  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct ophthalmic surgeries, including cataract surgery and other anterior or posterior segment procedures based on subspecialty.
  • Diagnose and manage glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal disorders, corneal diseases, uveitis, and neuro-ophthalmic conditions.
  • Prescribe medical treatments, corrective lenses, and recommend surgical interventions when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with optometrists, endocrinologists, neurologists, pediatricians, and other specialists to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients on disease prevention, treatment options, and post-operative care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, research, teaching, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
  • MD, MS, FRCOphth, CCT, American Board, or equivalent qualification in Ophthalmology.
  • UK CCT, American Board, Australian Fellowship, Western European Board, or South African Fellowship preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-board experience as an Ophthalmologist in a recognized tertiary care hospital or specialty eye center.
  • Experience in diagnosing and managing medical and surgical ophthalmic conditions.
  • Subspecialty expertise in Retina, Cornea, Glaucoma, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Oculoplastics, or Refractive Surgery is an advantage.
  • Excellent clinical, surgical, communication, and patient management skills.
  • Current BLS certification is preferred.
