Shift: 40 hrs. (days, evenings, nights, depending on availability) (Occasional on-call and rotating weekends may be required) 

Work Location: University of Miami Hospital - Interventional Radiology

  • Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Takes thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
  • Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician.
  • Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.
  • Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.
  • Records, processes, and maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports.
  • Sets up examination rooms ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education:

Associate degree or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

ARRT Certification required

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
