Job description

The Evergreen Center is a private non-profit organization that provides living and learning environments for children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, neurobehavioral disorders, and other special needs. Evergreen Center is seeking a bright and energetic Special Education Teacher who is responsible for direct instruction and curriculum design to a small cohort of 7-8 students. Within the classroom, the teacher works closely with other special educators, behavior analysts, and paraprofessionals to support students with significant educational and behavioral needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completion of educational assessments necessary to develop Individual Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives for students
  • Collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in the development of the IEP to meet educational programming goals for students
  • Development of materials and instructional methodology necessary to meet identified goals
  • Completion of quarterly progress monitoring reports
  • The supervision and training of instructors in the implementation of educational programming

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Experience in caring for persons with developmental disabilities (preferred)
  • Master’s degree and Special education licensure (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license (required)
