Summary:

Provides non-medical assistance with ADLs to unstaffed clients providing interim care to clients without a permanent assigned caregiver.

Examples of work performed:

• Assist clients with ADLs as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintains daily contact with supervisor.
• Report changes in client condition or any suspected neglect, abuse, or exploitation to supervisor, and TDADS and/or APS as appropriate.
• Completes daily reports weekly mileage, time and travel sheets, and uses EVV as instructed.
• Provides back up services as needed including week days, weekends, and holidays as assigned to meet client's plan of care.
• Assists with on call assignments as needed.
• Must complete 2 mandatory in-service trainings annually.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:

• Must be 18 years or older of age
• Or a high school graduate who is enrolled in vocational educational program, and has demonstrated competency to task.
• Must demonstrate competency of assigned task through education or experience -TAC 558.404
• Minimum of 6 months experience in non-medical homecare.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to provide quality customer service.
• Able to perform all authorized tasks.
• Ability to complete accurate paperwork as needed.
• Willingness to follow mandated compliance procedures.
• Must have dependable transportation and ability to read maps and follow instructions.
• Ability to be flexible on hours and locations, holiday and weekend availability.
• Willingness to be around household pets.
