Apply to this jobA leading tertiary care hospital in Dubai is seeking a South African Board Certified Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join its internationally renowned cardiac surgery team. This is an outstanding opportunity for experienced surgeons looking to relocate to Dubai and work in a state-of-the-art facility delivering advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, and thoracic procedures.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, pulmonologists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.
- Participate in emergency cardiothoracic surgery services and on-call rotations as required.
- Ensure compliance with international clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety standards.
- Mentor junior surgeons, residents, and fellows while participating in teaching and research activities.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent).
- Completion of accredited specialist training in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- South African Board Certification/Fellowship (CMSA – FCS(SA) Cardiothoracic Surgery or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialist Consultant experience preferred.
- Expertise in adult cardiac surgery, minimally invasive cardiac procedures, and thoracic surgery is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
