THE JOB:

As a Sommelier at The Corner Store in The Cosmopolitan, you'll be part of an exclusive opening team, helping shape the sophisticated energy and unforgettable vibe of one of Las Vegas' most anticipated dining destinations. Leveraging your expertise in wines, wine service, and food pairings, you'll curate exceptional dining experiences for every guest. Through genuine hospitality, personalized recommendations, and a passion for creating memorable moments, you'll elevate each visit into a WOW experience that guests will remember long after their stay.

THE STARTING RATE: $15.3737 Hourly + Tips

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Maintain complete knowledge of wine list, and wine and food pairing

• Collect money, while following all proper cash handling and comp procedures

• Clean equipment, tools, and supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order, including cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of workstation

• Maintain and update cellar/storage inventory according to set pars and internal controls, and request product to maintain stock in designated area

• Meet regularly with the wine trade to actively seek quality wines for the restaurant wine program as well as evaluate wines and other beverage for potential purchase

• Eliminate waste by training and supervising employees on wine knowledge, pour levels, proper storage, etc

• Verify accuracy of wine delivery ordered and received from the main warehouse and return or exchange deliveries when a warehouse error has occurred

• Maintain appropriate beverage costs by managing purchases and requisitions; place wine requisitions at the end of each service​

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience required

• 4+ Years of Prior Service experience in a similar dining environment preferred

• Fully engaged and intentional in every interaction, communicate with poise, clarity, and impact, inspiring confidence across all levels of the organization
