VIAVI is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our AMS (Automated Mobility solutions) Sales Team in Brazil, working directly with service providers in the region on advanced mobility assurance solutions. This is an individual contributor role focused on providing technical sales support for the AMS product portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in customer engagements, product demonstrations, and technical proposals for strategic accounts in the LATAM South region. This position is based in Brazil with approximately 25% domestic and regional travel.

Some of the main responsibilities and qualifications are:

• Be the chief technical resource working in tandem with the sales team owning and driving the execution of AMS sales account strategy
• Bridge between product management and accounts
• Drive cross-functional team to ensure internal alignment, timely escalations and consistent communication
• Lead technical interaction with the customer to understand their needs and alignment with Viavi’s solutions and prepare/present Viavi product materials to the customer.
• Lead coordination and response of customer technical requirements, feature requests and RFx.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
• Min. 8 years’ working experience in a Telecom vendor in a pre-sales role or highly technical consultant role (with implementation and deployment experience) OR
• Min. 8 years minimum working experience in an IP and/or Telcom service provider, in a senior network/service engineering role
• Proven work experience with the major regional wireless carriers (Claro, Telefonica)
• Very strong network architecture knowledge for RAN and CORE (3G, LTE, 5G NSA/SA)
• Very strong understanding of communication protocols (IP, SS7, 3G, LTE/EPC, 5GSA, VoLTE, VoIP, SNMP etc.) with a focus on signaling protocols across RAN, Core and service platforms.
• Network monitoring deployment experience
• Spoken and written languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA is a strong asset
• Experience working with Service Assurance, OSS, Customer Experience, Network Performance, Optimization and/or Analytics solutions
• Understanding emerging SDN and NFV technologies is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of LINUX, cloud and virtualization platforms / hypervisors; Experience with orchestration frameworks is a strong plus
• Working knowledge of Python or any functional programming/scripting language is a plus
• Understanding of the key standards bodies and process frameworks in the OSS market (i.e. TMF, ITIL) and their relevance to Viavi’s Assurance portfolio and solution architecture
• Software development experience; experience with agile methodologies
• Solid organization, communication and presentation skills
