With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

In this role, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for a core engineering group. You will be guiding the team's technical direction, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and building a supportive and growing team culture.Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate the technical roadmap for scaling the Design System while driving innovation through AI integration to meet future organizational and infrastructure needs.
• Lead a team of Software Engineers responsible for core infrastructure, providing regular coaching, performance management, and career development tailored to individual growth.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with the YouTube Ads business vertical and cross-functional teams (UX, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers) to ensure technical alignment with product and business goals.
• Architect and vet systems within the core infrastructure scope, ensuring the technical foundation.
• Ensure technical quality by reviewing code and system designs for accuracy and efficiency, while personally solving highly ambiguous problems through product or system development.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
