Make an Impact as a Software Engineer
As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll build foundational engineering skills, contribute to real-world projects, and gain experience working on technology used at a global scale.

What You’ll Do
As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers in a supportive, learning focused environment. You’ll:
• Write clean, maintainable code using modern programming languages
• Support design, development, and testing of software features
• Write basic automated tests to verify code behavior
• Learn and apply secure coding practices
• Participate in code reviews and learn from feedback
• Use logs and debugging tools to help identify and resolve issues
• Gain exposure to how enterprise software systems are built and maintained
• Projects, tools, and technologies vary by team.

Intern, Software Engineering Internship Experience
Mastercard’s Summer Internship Program offers more than hands-on technical work:

Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field graduating December 2027 and beyond
• Coursework or projects using Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, or similar languages
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and core computer science concepts
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git)
• Interest in software testing, debugging, and problem solving
• Curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to learn
