Critical infrastructure is constrained by labor shortages, hazardous working conditions, and operational complexity. Watney builds and deploys autonomous robotic systems that increase the speed and capacity of buildout, starting with data centers.

The Role

As one of the foundational members of our Engineering team, you will architect and develop systems for our fast-growing fleet of production robots. We are pragmatic. We value high agency. And, we like to ship fast. This is an opportunity to level up your impact and your growth as an engineer.

Working directly with our founding team, this role is based onsite at our San Francisco headquarters.

What You’ll Do

• Architect, build and maintain highly-available, robust distributed systems

• Design, implement, test, and debug code across the software stack

• Collaborate with ML Engineers to develop blazingly fast online RL systems at scale

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of software development experience

• Strong technical foundation and breadth with experience architecting large-scale distributed systems

• In-depth, hands-on development experience building and optimizing across the software stack

• Proficiency programming in Golang, Java, Scala or Python. Rust is a big plus!

• Strong sense of ownership, initiative, problem solving and analysis

• Effective communicator and collaborator with the ability to work closely with ML Engineers

Compensation

$150,000 - $200,000 annual salary. We offer competitive compensation, including equity and comprehensive benefits.
