At Numbers Station, we’re using the latest revolution in artificial intelligence to automate enterprise data tasks. In particular, we use foundation models (e.g. o3-mini) to power data analytics and downstream actions. Ultimately this democratizes access to data within organizations and enables them to quickly act on those insights. Numbers Station is born out of years of research at Stanford University and our technology already powers assistants and search engines at top tech companies. Excited to join a young startup redefining how enterprises use AI? Apply to be a Software Engineer on the Numbers Station team. As a Software Engineer you’ll deliver features that power and enable enterprises to leverage Numbers Station’s technology. With a combination of a user-focused mindset and strong programming skills, you will have full ownership and responsibility for building, shipping, and maintaining innovative new functionality across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend systems, build robust APIs and integrate with frontend applications.
• Engage with and build solutions for our customers, iterating to balance innovative research with practical solutions.
• Work with designers and ML experts to create a phenomenal user experience.
• Ensure code quality and standards through regular reviews and feedback and tests.

Minimum Qualifications

• Self-motivation, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and a growth mindset
• Strong technical communication skills
• Strong coding skills and knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity
• 2+ years of professional experience with scalable web applications

Bonus Points

• Skilled with Python and familiar with web frameworks (FastAPI, Django), ORMs and databases (SQLAlchemy, Postgres) and other common tools (Celery, Redis, pytest)
• Familiarity with Javascript or Typescript and React (Remix)
• Skilled in writing and deploying integration and unit tests within CI/CD

We provide a competitive compensation package, including startup equity, health insurance, and other benefits. The base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 - $160,000, plus equity and benefits. The final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and job-related expertise, and may vary by location and level.
