Software Engineer

JBT Marel is looking for an Software developer to join a strong and growing team that is developing software for JBT Marel Inspection solutions. The team is part of the Secondary Fresh group and is responsible for platform development and maintenance of new features for equipment dedicated to quality inspection in the food industry. This includes software development, hardware considerations, architectural decisions and defining application interfaces.

The Inspection team is a part of the business unit Secondary Fresh, and it is responsible for equipment and solutions for the poultry, meat and fish food processing industries. JBT Marel’s Inspection innovation team is responsible for industry leading X-ray inspection technology, the SensorX system.
 

What you’ll do:

• Software development in C++, LUA and javascript/html for user interfaces
• Improve and maintain the software framework
• Participate in architectural design
• Interface hardware such as motordrives, safety controllers and various sensors
• Customer visits, installation and testing of prototypes and follow up
• Documentation
   

Who are you?

In order to be successful in this exciting position, you need to recognize yourself in the following profile. Ideally, you bring:

• University degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or relevant field
• 3+ years of software development experience in related fields
• Good knowledge of C++ and Linux
• Experience with multi-threaded and real-time environment
• Knowledge of software design and patterns
• Knowledge of electrical systems for machine control
• Hands on skills
• Ability to solve problems in a multi-disciplinary way
• Enthusiastic about technology
• Enjoys learning and researching
• Ability to be acquainted with the needs of the user and of the process
• Willingness to travel
