As a Software Engineer in Molecular Imaging team, you’ll be responsible for implementing solutions and designs contributing to next generation platform solutions for GE HealthCare products.

Essential Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Work in a global environment, collaborating with product owners, architects and technical leaders to understand requirements and user stories and thereby develop quality software as member of the Scrum team (Agile Methodology)
  • Ensure code quality, test coverage and adherence to various quality parameters per GE quality manual. Demonstrate a quality mindset in all aspects of deliverable for our customers.
  • Ensure that the implementation results in reusable software assets.
  • Learn and understand clinical relevance of PET/CT applications and platform components.
  • Investigate and help resolve product complaints reported by customers / field engineers.
  • Perform integration & verification activities at component and sub-system levels.
  • Participate in team meetings, introspection sessions and other group activities.
  • Document requirements, designs, verifications, and other key development activities in accordance with established GE Healthcare and local quality processes.
  • Participate in all scrum ceremonies and provide inputs to improve the process and performance on the scrum team at every level.
  • Strong co-ordination capability within peers across cross-functional scrum teams. Communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the use of latest tools, techniques and development environments that enhance team’s productivity. Share best practices with other software engineering groups within GE Healthcare.
  • Partner with global teams to promote consistency in development practices, tools and methods.
  • Act as the change agent for the team and continuously improve both platform and processes working with the leadership team.
  • Ensure all actions and software delivered are compliant with GE Healthcare regulations. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering/electrical engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related computer field, with 3+ years of software design & development experience.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ Years of experience in Software Development for complex projects of global nature. Practical experience in engineering product development processes on cross-functional programs with a focus on related engineering discipline.
  • Practical experience in understanding and developing Medical Image Acquisition applications.
  • Strong expertise in C++ programming (in a Linux environment will be a plus), Java knowledge or hands on is desirable.
  • Good understanding and practical experience in usage of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Programming (OOP) concepts and Unified Modelling Language (UML).
  • Strong Analytical, Debugging and Problem-Solving skills.
  • Experience with industry software development practices, tools and environments including practical usage of version control management (GitLab), Defect Tracking Tools and Debuggers.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in working with Shell/Perl/Python scripting.
  • Willing to learn new technologies and flexible with roles and responsibilities.
  • Software development experience in the Medical Device Industry, knowledge of applicable standards and regulations.
  • Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Rally
