Job Description

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Work extensively with other members of the development and support teams, using your analytical and problem-solving abilities to push boundaries and formulate creative solutions to complex problems;
  • Develop, test and support highly visible applications, using the latest .NET technologies primarily focused around the web and client-server architectures;
  • Work with the Product Specialist and collaborate with business users to evaluate new business requirements and advise on possible technical implementations;
  • Ensure the quality of the developed software through the use of automated unit tests and continuous integration;
  • Provide support for developed applications, collaborate with other teams and provide recommendations to ensure successful resolution to identified issues in a timely manner.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • Completion of a post secondary program in computer science or related field;
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in developing web based applications on the Microsoft technology stack and .NET Framework using C#, ASP.NET/MVC, and WCF;
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures including the design/development of distributed and multithreaded systems using messaging systems such as ActiveMQ/MSMQ and REST-based Web Services;
  • Expertise in database design, development, and tuning using Microsoft SQL Server;
  • Lead level participation in projects developing complex multi-tier web applications that span multiple roles and workflows; 
  • Strong understanding of object oriented analysis and design, best practices, and the application of design patterns;
  • Comfortable using modern web technologies and frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery, etc.;
  • Knowledgeable in the use of software quality assurance automation and unit testing tools such as NUnit, WatiN;
  • Experience using Continuous Integration and source control systems & tools like SVN, GIT, VSTS, etc.;
  • Practiced in agile software development methodologies like Scrum, XP is highly desired;
  • Exposure to VoIP systems, software and associated protocols such as SIP/RTP a benefit;
  • Experience in developing SDKs and/or applications for mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, and Windows Phone considered an asset.
