The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Positions that provide addictive disorder counseling or prevention services will require certification or eligibility for certification issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA), or its successor.</span>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found <a href="https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=169930" target="_blank"><u>here</u>.</a><p style="font-style: normal; margin: 10px 0; color: inherit; text-indent: 0"><u>Job Duties:</u><br> As a Social Service Counselor 4-A, the incumbent will:</p><ul><li><p>Oversee, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate substance use prevention efforts throughout South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority’s seven-parish service region: Assumption, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary, and Terrebonne.</p></li><li><p>Be responsible for regional prevention planning; oversight of contracted prevention programs; monitoring of program implementation, fidelity, performance, outcomes, expenditures, and data quality; administration of the state-designated Prevention Management Information System (PMIS) or other required data management system; analysis of regional and parish-level prevention data; coordination with coalitions, schools, contractors, and community partners; and provision of training and technical assistance.</p></li><li><p>Ensure that regional prevention activities are evidence-based or evidence-informed, responsive to identified community needs, culturally appropriate, measurable, and aligned with SCLHSA, Louisiana Office of Behavioral Health, federal block grant, and other applicable funding requirements.</p></li><li><p>Work with the Director of Community Integration and Prevention to translate regional priorities into coordinated prevention strategies, contract expectations, provider activities, community initiatives, and measurable outcomes.</p></li></ul><p><u style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Position-Specific Details:</u></p><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Location: </strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">This position is located at SCLHSA's Terrebonne Behavioral Health Clinic, located in Houma, LA. </span><br><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Appointment Type: </strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"> <span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">This vacancy is being announced as a Classified Position and will be filled as a Probationary Appointment.</span></span><br><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Compensation: </strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant. </span><br><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong>: </span>Must hold a current and valid Prevention Professional registrations, certification or license or be qualified and be willing to obtain this professional credential through the Louisiana Addictive Disorders Regulatory Authority. <br><p><u></u><u style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">How To Apply:</u></p><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">No Civil Service Test Score </strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">is required in order to be considered for this vacancy. </span><br><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
