Job description

NVIDIA has transformed computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for over 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation fueled by great technology—and amazing people.

Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU and Networking products act as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. Looking into the future, power management and power optimizations present a huge challenge in the development of silicon throughout all the development life cycles. Together, we can meet the challenge. Join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world. The networking architecture team seeks a highly-skilled, leading engineer to explore, define and assimilate power optimization methods across all design disciplines.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop architectures, algorithms, models, and methodologies to improve power consumption of our DPU and NIC products across all design life cycles.

  • Lead research into innovative power optimization techniques and power modeling approaches that will drive our solutions to the next level.

  • Define power-aware architecture requirements and implementation strategies for next-generation products, balancing power, performance, area, and design execution considerations.

  • Work closely with board, package, and physical design teams to understand and mitigate design limitations: power delivery, di/dt, thermal, and signal integrity.

  • Collaborate across software, ASIC design, verification, and platform teams to drive power improvements end-to-end.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a known university.

  • At least 5 years of experience in ASIC design/uarch/arch/performance.

  • Strong EE fundamentals including knowledge of digital design, front-end and back-end practices, power analysis, and characterization.

  • Exceptional analytical skills with a passion for solving complex logical and system-level problems.

  • Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to drive complex activities involving multiple interfaces, disciplines, and teams.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience as a hardware architect on high-end ASICs.

  • Background in computer architecture with a focus on power management, power optimization and characterization, or power modeling.

  • Demonstrated track record of power or performance improvements on silicon products.

  • Knowledge of physical design back-end practices and their interaction with power architecture decisions.
