Job Description Summary

The Site Methods Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end development of site erection
procedures, Complex Lifting Plans (CLPs), and inspection documentation for Hydro components.
You will champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all technical deliverables comply with GE Vernova standards, client requirements, and applicable international/local legislation.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Documentation & Compliance Management

•  Preparation & Review: Own the end-to-end creation of project-specific erection/dismantling procedures, inspection sheets, and Complex Lifting Plans (CLPs). Ensure these align with contractual obligations, engineering synopses, and transportation logistics.

•  Quality & Standards: Act as the primary gatekeeper for technical compliance. This includes validating contractor/vendor submissions, ensuring alignment with GE Vernova’s internal governance (e.g., Corella, PDM/PLM), and managing the timely closure of document review cycles.

•  Measurement & Control: Develop inspection plans that define clear measurement points and acceptance criteria. Apply expert knowledge of metrology, dimensional control, and geometric verification to ensure equipment alignment and assembly

accuracy.

2. EHS & Safety Culture Integration

•  Proactive EHS Design: Integrate safety into the conceptual phase. Actively participate in Design Reviews (DR) and synopsis reviews to identify risks before site mobilization, ensuring equipment design is compatible with safe installation methods.

•  Safety-First Execution: Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring every method statement and lifting plan is not only compliant but also "user-friendly" and practical for site personnel.

•  Incident Prevention: Maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward EHS compromises. Regularly audit site activities to identify non-compliances, promptly reporting all risks or deviations to the Site Methods Leader and Project Manager to prevent Lost Time Incidents (LTI).

3. Technical Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

•  Engineering & Supply Chain Liaison: Provide technical expertise to the Supply

Chain team through document reviews, supplier visits, and participation in technical clarification meetings. Support Engineering teams by providing real-world installation feedback to optimize design for manufacturability and assembly.

•  Operational Feedback Loop: Serve as the technical bridge between site teams and the broader organization. Coordinate with Construction & Commissioning (C&C) Experts to capture "lessons learned" and technical deviations, ensuring this intelligence is updated in internal knowledge databases (e.g., Confluence) to improve future project performance.

•  On-Site Technical Authority: Act as the technical point of contact during site

execution. Conduct site visits to resolve complex issues, provide hands-on guidance to installation teams, and assist in Non-Conformance Report (NCR) reviews where methods-related processes are involved

Required Qualifications & Experience

•  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or a Technical. Diploma in a related discipline.

•  Experience: Minimum 5 years in methods engineering or site engineering within the Hydro or heavy power generation sector.

•  Technical Proficiency: Expertise in rotating equipment assembly (Turbine, Generator, MIV, HM, BOP). Strong knowledge of heavy-component lifting, rigging, and applicable safety regulations (e.g., Factories Act 1948, BIS, International standards). Familiarity with metrology, dimensional control, site machining, and welding

techniques.

•  Tools: Proficient in MS Office; technical proficiency in CAD software (Siemens NX or AutoCAD) is a strong asset.

Core Competencies

•  Safety Leadership: Unwavering commitment to EHS; zero tolerance for compromises on safety under pressure.

•  Communication: Excellent English (written/spoken). Ability to interface effectively with multicultural/multidisciplinary teams.

•  Adaptability: Proven ability to work independently, manage complex problem-solving, and travel to international/domestic project sites.

•  Ethics: High level of professional integrity and accountability in all business dealings
