About the Role

We are currently recruiting for multiple Site Engineers to join our team in Canberra to help lead the delivery of a long-term project.

In this role you will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex construction projects, and will be responsible for on-site technical support, quality control, and ensuring project execution aligns with plans and specifications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager in all aspects of project delivery, from planning to completion.

  • Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and material tracking.

  • Interpret and implement engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications on-site.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or potential issues.

  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and efficient workflow.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of work method statements and risk assessments.

  • Support the surveying and setting out of construction elements.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of site safety plans and procedures.

  • Participate in site meetings, contributing technical expertise and providing updates on project progress.

About you

  • To be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.

  • To hold, or be able to gain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in the construction industry, preferably within large-scale projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and relevant building codes and regulations.

  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality assurance.

  • Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various project sites as required.
