We are looking for an experienced SIP Draftsperson to support an Australian construction and manufacturing team. In this role, you will transform approved architectural and structural designs into accurate Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) models, layouts, and manufacturing documentation using Revit and AutoCAD. You will work closely with Australian engineers, architects, and production teams to deliver high-quality drafting packages that support efficient manufacturing and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate Revit models from architectural, structural, and engineering documentation.
  • Produce coordinated SIP wall, floor, and roof panel layouts in accordance with approved company standards.
  • Prepare elevations, sections, detailed drawings, schedules, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Create individual panel layouts, assign panel identification numbers, and detail openings, junctions, and standard SIP connections.
  • Prepare panel schedules, cutting information, quantities, and manufacturing-ready drawing packages.
  • Review architectural and structural drawings to identify discrepancies, omissions, or coordination issues before drafting.
  • Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) where design information is incomplete or unclear.
  • Coordinate revisions and ensure all drawings remain aligned with the latest approved documentation.
  • Maintain organised project files, revision histories, drawing registers, and document control.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Australian technical team and communicate technical issues promptly.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and collaborate with engineers, architects, and production staff.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by assisting with drafting standards, Revit families, templates, and technical procedures.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Design, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years' drafting experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Competent user of AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience producing detailed construction, shop, fabrication, or manufacturing drawings.
  • Solid understanding of dimensions, levels, sections, construction detailing, and sequencing.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting Australian construction or engineering projects.
  • Experience with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), prefabricated or modular construction, or timber framing.
  • Experience developing Revit families, templates, or drafting standards.
  • Familiarity with the Australian National Construction Code (NCC).
  • Experience preparing panel schedules, material take-offs, or manufacturing documentation.
  • Exposure to CNC, CAD/CAM, or automated manufacturing workflows.
  • Previous collaboration with architects, structural engineers, and production teams.
