Forklift Driver – High-Volume Distribution Center

Job Summary

The Forklift Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently loading, unloading, transporting, and staging products in a fast-paced distribution center. This role operates a forklift equipped with a double-pallet attachment to move two pallets simultaneously, maximizing productivity while maintaining safety and product quality.

Requirements

  • Operate a sit-down forklift with a double-pallet attachment to transport two pallets at a time.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers in a high-volume warehouse environment.
  • Move, stack, stage, and replenish palletized products accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify product counts and inspect loads for damage before movement.
  • Follow shipping schedules and prioritize workloads to meet productivity goals.
  • Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Adhere to all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and warehouse procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse associates, and shipping personnel.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience in a distribution or warehouse environment required.
  • Experience operating forklifts with double-pallet attachments preferred.
  • Ability to safely handle high-volume loading and unloading operations.
  • Basic math and inventory skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and climb on and off equipment throughout the shift.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-volume distribution center.
  • Frequent loading and unloading of trailers.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as applicable.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
