Salary Range: $62,868.00 - $72,298.00

The Human Resources Administration (HRA) is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. Housing Services Administration is a division of New York City’s Department of Social Services that oversees housing stability and rehousing efforts. HSA administers rental assistance, housing supply, and placement programs to help individuals and families exit shelter, prevent homelessness, and secure safe, affordable housing across the city.

The Human Resources Administration (HRA) is recruiting for one (1) Community Coordinator to function as a Shelter Support Coordinator, who will:

- Provide consultation and training to provider staff to strengthen knowledge and capacity around rehousing services for the shelter population, including guidance on rental packet preparation and client assessments.

- Develop and outline support curriculum covering the rehousing process, including documentation requirements, case preparation, and coordination with Concierge staff.

- Conduct site visits and assessments to identify gaps, evaluate resources, and recommend improvements to support effective rehousing practices.

- Review performance management data and site-level metrics, preparing reports and scorecards for leadership and provider management.

- Participate in meetings with providers and management to address challenges related to client exit strategies, income verification, and other rehousing barriers.

- Provide recommendations to address housing discrimination concerns and troubleshoot financial or subsidy-related issues impacting placements.

- Guide clients and staff on identifying affordable housing options and accessing government benefits, including making referrals to partner agencies and external resources.



Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5p

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
