Course Description: 

International Corporate Strategy examines the analyses and choices that corporations make in an increasingly globalized world. Topics will include: recent trends in globalization, the notion of competitive advantage, the choice to compete through exports or foreign direct investment, and the risks facing multinational enterprises.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications: Completion of a relevant professional or graduate degree; demonstrated teaching excellence; currency in and mastery of subject area; at least three years’ experience in a private-sector role dealing with business issues; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level.

Preferred qualifications: (in addition to minimum) Several years related professional experience and/or previous experience teaching a related course at UTSC with consistent, strong course evaluations.

Duties:

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours, and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Estimated TA Support (Hours):

Approximately 50 minutes per student enrolled over 30

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.

In considering qualified applicants, teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level or similar environment; several years related professional experience shall be the criteria used in the selection of the most qualified candidate in accordance with Article 14:12.

Salary for a half-course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,997.48. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,699.22. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,699.22.  Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,953.96. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,953.96. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $11,228.90.
