Service Asset and Configuration Management Specialist

The Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of IT asset and configuration data across the enterprise.

The role maintains and evolves the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and asset repositories, enabling reliable incident resolution, effective change management, and accurate impact analysis. This position plays a critical role in improving operational stability, audit compliance, and service visibility across all IT domains.

This position reports to the ServiceNow Platform Lead, part of the Infrastructure and Operations team.

What you will do:

• Maintain CMDB accuracy and integrity, ensuring configuration items and relationships are complete and reliable.
• Manage asset and CI lifecycle, from onboarding through to updates and retirement.
• Drive data quality improvements, including audits, remediation of gaps, and governance enforcement.
• Leverage ServiceNow and discovery tools to automate and optimize asset and configuration data, ensuring visibility of dependencies across the technology stack.
• Define and enforce SACM processes and governance, working with IT domain owners (EUC, Network, Infrastructure, Applications) to ensure consistent adoption.

Who you are:

• BS or BA degree in a STEM related field or related experience.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in service management, operations management, or a related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB including class modelling, CSDM, CMDB population methods, Discovery, Service Mapping, integrations, manual data governance and CMDB health.
• Proven experience in Service Asset and Configuration Management process management in medium to large-scale enterprise environments with ability to translate business and technical requirements into effective CMDB models.
• Strong analytical and communications skills with a focus on data quality and consistency and willingness to collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and ITSM teams.
