Overview

Zero Gravity Marketing (ZGM) and CAKE Commerce are seeking an experienced Organic Search & AI Discoverability Consultant to provide strategic guidance, auditing, and recommendations that improve organic visibility, qualified lead generation, and AI search discoverability.

This is a consulting engagement for a senior SEO professional who can independently evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable recommendations.

What You'll Do

Organic Search Analysis

• Investigate and identify root causes behind organic traffic and ranking declines
• Analyze Google Search Console, GA4, and other SEO data sources
• Identify technical, content, and authority-related opportunities for improvement

SEO Auditing

Conduct comprehensive audits covering:

• Crawlability and indexation
• Site architecture and internal linking
• Redirects, canonicals, XML sitemaps, and robots.txt
• Core Web Vitals and technical SEO health
• Schema markup and structured data
• Content quality, topical authority, and keyword coverage

AI Discoverability & GEO

Evaluate and provide recommendations related to:

• Google AI Overviews
• ChatGPT visibility
• Perplexity visibility
• Claude visibility
• Entity optimization
• Knowledge graph signals
• FAQ and structured answer content
• Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
• AI citation opportunities

Strategic Recommendations

• Develop prioritized recommendations based on business impact
• Estimate effort, expected outcomes, and implementation priorities
• Present findings in a clear, executive-friendly format
• Connect recommendations to lead quality, pipeline growth, and revenue opportunities

Qualifications

Required

• 7+ years of SEO experience
• Strong technical SEO expertise
• Experience conducting comprehensive SEO audits
• Deep understanding of crawlability, indexation, site architecture, schema, and Core Web Vitals
• Experience using Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and/or SEMrush
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate technical findings into business-focused recommendations
• Excellent written communication and reporting skills

Preferred

• Experience with AI search visibility, AEO, GEO, and AI Overviews
• Agency experience
• Ecommerce SEO experience
• B2B lead generation experience
• Experience presenting recommendations to executive stakeholders

• Identify the root causes of recent organic performance declines
• Deliver a comprehensive SEO and AI discoverability audit
• Prioritize the highest-impact opportunities
• Establish a clear roadmap for organic growth and AI search visibility

Type: 1099 Contractor

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours per month
