Senior Voice Core Solution Architect (VOIS)

Role Purpose:

Participate in a range of engineering activities related to planning, design, engineering and implementation of CSCF/ENUM network elements, according to the company forecast, technology evolution, Vodafone Technology Networks recommendations, quality of service design parameters and business continuity plan.

This job is focused on overall planning, design and base engineering of the in scope and related implementation activities.  The engineer in this area will cooperate in intra and cross-group activities, will cooperate with other groups such as CoE, GET, CP&S and towards the rest of the Engineering departments acting as a subject matter expert for CSCF/ENUM nodes. Finally, can act as project and delivery manager in relevant projects and major deployments

Ensure the timely realization of the yearly plan, with fulfilment of defined costs and quality. The role will be focused on both European OpCo CSCF/ENUM infrastructure used for mobile (e.g. VoLTE) and fixed services (e.g. OneNet) but also on central CSCF/ENUM infrastructure, used for example for Emergency Call services.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

•    Evolution of the IMS Core Network towards all IP
•    High Level Design of the technical solutions impacting the platforms in scope supporting the product and solution design during the feasibility phase
•    Detailed CSCF/ENUM Core Network design, planning and equipment engineering and validation to meet traffic growth and performance targets, offering Vodafone customers a perfect user experience
•    Stimulate the identification of synergy, harmonization and consolidation activities inside the European Region and ensure consistent introduction of new technologies inside the Region
•    Work with the Core Competence Centre on the evolution and roadmap of the platform, influencing it to consider real-life use of the platform, to address its limitations, as well as to make them better suited to the needs of Vodafone in terms of cost, efficiency, reliability, scalability, ease of operation, etc.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

•    Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results and improve performance
•    Ability to adapting and manage efficiently changes
•    Very deep knowledge of core network architectures and protocols, with specific reference to the IMS core
•    Several years of experience in planning, design, engineering and testing within a mobile network area of a telecom operator

Must have technical - professional qualifications:

•    Voice and data signalling topology, interfaces and protocols
•    Inter-functional relationships, teamwork, cooperation and time management with good degree of autonomy and ability to self-start on complex deliverables in ambiguous situations
•    Excellent Communication and analytic skills, ability to explain, enlighten, educate and above all engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
•    Project management capabilities. 
•    Capability of planning in advance possible issues which might arise during the project and already preparing possible workaround solutions
