Senior Tax Associate

Core responsibilities:

  • Support in managing Group Tax Reporting deliverables on expected time and quality;

  • Reviewing the deliverables from OpCos and triggering clarifications or adjustments to figures if necessary;

  • Reviewing tax-related internal or external disclosure statements;

  • Support in the implementation of improved tax reporting solutions across the group;

  • Support in managing standardized local tax reporting processes within each OpCo providing them with Millicom specific templates and tools;

  • Support other areas (e.g.: Accounting, Financial Planning) with tax-related issues resulting from business as usual and non-routine transactions;

  • Communicating Group highlights to key stakeholders along the year;

  • Being the “to-go” person for relevant tax matters to the OpCos tax managers;

  • Guaranteeing SOX compliancy of OpCos, Group and HQ Entities by managing process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree

  • MBA (Desired)

  • Conversant in Financial and Accounting Systems, such as Oracle eBS, HFM, SAP. A certification is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of Finance and Tax concepts (International Tax certification is a plus) and accounting principles and practices (IFRS and US Gaap knowledge is a plus, IAS 12 knowledge desired). A certification is a plus

  • Proficient in Spanish and English

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in either a regional tax team or an HQ’s tax team in house or advising Multinational Groups about Tax reporting.

  • Influencing stakeholders at a physical distance and dealing with remote teams.

  • Driving teams to develop and adopt policies and guidelines.

  • Experience in the designing and implementation of Tax digitalization solutions is a plus.
