Senior Staff Application Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Senior Staff Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key technical interface between the local application engineering team and the global Technical Marketing and Product Line Management teams. You will validate and benchmark Infineon's power semiconductor solutions in real-world applications such as AI servers, EV charging systems, solar inverters, and consumer electronics, ensuring superior performance and competitiveness. You will also lead technical development initiatives, support go-to-market strategies, and mentor local engineers in technical and personal growth.

Job Description
In your new role you will:

• Act as the main technical support for Technical Marketing team in Austria to validate products value proposition in customer systems during development projects
• Be the local spokesman to the product line management
• Measure Infineon components as well as competitor benchmarking, in SMPS for AI/Servers/Telecom, EV on-board and off-board chargers,residential solar inverters and energy storage, home appliances, and chargers and adapters.
• Drive tests of leading-edge and novel devices on specially designed boards to support the development and optimization of new technologies
• Create new application test setups (e.g. design of application test-board), including PCB design and test automation
• Support of go to market activities and product development
• Provide guidance for your local peers, in technical and personal development
• Be locally responsible to organize and analyze data and generate test reports
• Contribute to peer reviews of internal development documents
• Interface with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues requiring in depth product knowledge
• Actively engage with Technical Marketing team to explore new technology, best in cost design, etc. to achieve competitive advantages.

Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A degree from a university/university of applied sciences /technical school in Electrical Engineering or comparable
• 5+ years proven hands on work experience in electrical engineering laboratory environment, including using lab equipment
• Basic knowledge of semiconductors, especially Power MOSFETs preferable.
• Experience in analysis of measurement data and documentation and presentation of results for internal stakeholders.
• Capability to work independently and provide guidance and technical training for team mates
• Basic programming skills, e.g., Matlab or Python
• PCB Design as a plus (Allegro, Altium Designer) and the ability to understand and review existing layouts
• Profound MS Office skills
