REMOTE: Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to join our dynamic Development Team. This role is ideal for a full stack developer who thrives across the entire software development lifecycle—designing and optimizing databases (backend), building robust business logic and applications (middle tier), and crafting intuitive, user-friendly interfaces (frontend). The successful candidate will play a key role in developing custom applications and complex reports, integrating them into web or desktop platforms, and delivering tailored technical solutions to meet organizational needs.

Basic Functions:

■ Design, develop, and maintain custom applications and complex reports using Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, and tools like .NET or similar frameworks.

■ Perform all phases of the system development lifecycle: planning, design, development, implementation, deployment, and maintenance.

■ Optimize database structures and queries for performance and scalability.

■ Create and integrate user-friendly front-end interfaces with backend systems.

■ Document solutions through clear code, flowcharts, diagrams, and technical documentation.

■ Conduct software testing, debugging, and quality assurance to ensure reliable updates and deployments.

■ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.

■ Provide training and support to clients or internal teams on application maintenance and updates.

■ Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Development Team and internal software processes.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

■ Enhance customer service and satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery of solutions.

■ Escalate and resolve development challenges within agreed service levels, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and changes.

■ Maintain in-depth knowledge of our software and its alignment with customer goals, particularly in educational or enterprise contexts.

■ Track time, expenses, and project tasks using the appropriate tools (training provided).

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

■ Proven expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSRS report design.

■ Full stack development experience with proficiency in .NET or similar frameworks.

■ Strong skills in database design, optimization, and integration with web or desktop platforms.

■ Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SIS, LMS, ERP, CRM, HRMS, Library Management Systems, Admissions and Enrollment Management Systems, Facilities and Campus Management Systems, or Analytics/BI Tools (e.g., Power BI).

■ Experience working with educational institutions or similar complex organizational environments is a plus.

■ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

■ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

■ Self-motivated, proactive, and adept at problem-solving and technical diagnostics.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

■ BA/BS in computer science, software development, or a related field (MBA/MS preferred but not required).

■ 5+ years of development experience, with a focus on SQL Server, SSRS, and full stack application development.
