Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Migration

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and ownership of significant features or services within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) migration and modernization solutions, ensuring long-term quality.
• Solve complex and ambiguous technical problems, making key design decisions impacting scalability and reliability.
• Drive innovation, particularly by integrating Gen-AI, to enhance platform capabilities.
• Collaborate effectively with Product Management and Engineering teams, influencing technical direction and contributing to cross-team designs. Understand customer challenges to inform technical designs and decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and advocate software engineering best practices (code quality, testing, CI/CD).

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience building enterprise grade software including design, implementation (backend) and testing.
• Experience coding in one or more languages such as Python, Scala, Java, Go, or similar in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience working with cloud services and solutions (GCP) and contributing to the design of systems running on these platforms.
• Experience with technologies relevant to enterprise applications, including virtualization, storage, networking, etc.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with API design and integration.
• Experience with migrating or modernizing enterprise applications.
• Understanding of enterprise customer needs and experience working on enterprise-grade software.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
